Members can register into the Sew -Op at different levels to reflect four types of participation: Entry Level, Fundamental, Alchemical, and Procreational. Each level of membership helps both the organization and the individual better understand what responsibility they hold for one another. However, logging in at www.sew-op.net appears the same for all levels of participation.

Entry Level

An Entry Level member receives minimal use of Sew-Op spaces, tools, and instruction. This type of membership indicates temporary involvement with the Sew-Op and is ideal for individuals who wish to participate in a short-term activity or on a temporary basis. Also included in the Entry Level tier are people who are unable to afford one of the other three levels of more permanent membership. A record of temporary activity is stored in the member's online profile, and this level of membership provides limited access to web resources. Entry Level members are offered Sew-Op materials credits for the completion of approved workshop projects.

Fundamental

Fundamental membership is for active Sew-Opportunity members who receive regular use of resources. A monthly or yearly renewable registration is required. The Fundamental tier of participation yields greater access to resources, more involvement with the Sew-Op community, and the ability to sell items in the Sew-Op's online store. Funds collected from the sale of items are credited to the member's account as Sew-Op credits. An active Sew-Op member will need to become a Fundamental level member to obtain the regular use of resources.

Alchemical

At this level of activation an individual is permitted to all the locations, tools, resources and networking that the online reality offers. These members are usually space holders themselves and are passionate about what they have to offer. Members at this level are also instructors and skilled in an area that is their forte. Yearlong commitments are common and profiles are regularly maintained. The online store is available to sell items on consignment or percentage of sales. Sales can be revolved into Sew-Op credits or forwarded into pay pal accounts.

Pro-creational

All access to locations, tools, services, resources and exclusive of the online store become available at this level. Professional tailors, seamstresses, designers, pattern makers and textile artists usually fit this profile. These members engage in a Commitment to the textile and fashion arts personally and with in the communities. The online store now becomes a personal marketing tool where the artists' name and label are acknowledged. Percentage of sales is paid to the Sew-Op for services provided. A merchandise contract maybe offered to the label for a product line. Applications for seasonal fashion shows/events are also awarded to this level of registry.

Chapters

Sew-Op is an ever-growing organization of People, Places, Tools and Events that are created and located by regional chapters. Each chapter is managed by a chapter elder or Elder group that sustains operation. All chapters follow the same basis of operation providing consistent values important to ethics and management of locations. Grants from a city, a state or government are applied for by a Chapter as well as receive donations for distribution. Regional chapters arrange fundraisers, fashion shows and benefits. Sew-Op.net is the major component in networking chapters together for communication and efficiency of resources. Chapters are responsible for providing information of the region to Sew-Op.net as well as costs of operation and revenues collected while DBA Sew -opportunity. A board of trustees specific to each location further defines a chapter.

Chapter Elder

Individuals and groups (sometimes other businesses) creating a Sew-Op location are valued as a Chapter Member. These members lead in the operations of location(s) and are responsible for the management of spaces, tools and events of the appointed chapter. Elders are usually Pro-Creational members themselves, although anyone can apply for Chapter member position. Ideal members provide spaces for Sew-Op locations and operations. An elder is usually available to communicate procedures of operations to pods.

Pod

A pod is a Sew-Op location that is organized and maintained by a regional Chapter. Pods are operations that usually function with in multiple use spaces. Pods mostly incorporate education and resources into already established organizations or locations. Pods offer member's times, space and assistance specific to each location. Pods maybe managed by an approved leader and institute programming on an individual level. All pods follow the same basis of operation continuing to provide consistent ethics and values especially regarding Green Awareness, recycling and member management.
