The Sew-Opportunity provides individuals the opportunity that they may have not been able to provide themselves. All the tools, materials, assistance and inspiration required for the completion of design and fabrication of garments, home décor and textile creation are for use at the Sew-Op. The Sew-Op is a 501c (3) not-for-profit organization that is providing change in the world one stitch at a time by teaching local communities how to become sustainable through the resources available. The Sew-Op is designed to start up any where with minimal resources and become recognized by way of www.sew-op.net. Global awareness is achieved through the design of the web site, which in turn perpetuates education, community, recycling and sustainable living. Momentum created by the organization aims to support natives and minorities of the world through sensitive implementation methods that feed the people successful options of creation. |

Each Sew-Opportunity is an operation of common vision with individual freedom. Most communities will have a main operation that acts as a proto type expressing the wide variety of possibilities and act as local warehousing/distribution of donated goods. Other locations will participate by offering what is available, focus on specific services and use the web site to announce the level of involvement toward the mission. Involved members, locations and resources are accessible through the use of the website which is used for networking maximum potential of goods and services. Members can start to use the Sew-Op services by registering on-line and creating a profile. Profiles are used to communicate, keep track of shop/trade hours, build character and provide access to physical locations. Three levels of membership are consistently offered at all locations that provide structure and create an understanding of individual involvement. Bi-Annual fashion shows are conducted through the Sew-Op member base in various locations that promote those who have achieved professional status and raise funds for out reach agendas with in the Sew-Op mission. Altruistic ideas are a main stay in the Sew-Op value system.

The Sew-Opportunity offers education on sustainable resources and community building skills at an individual level by empowering participants an idea of who or what can be created. Individuals "Find their self" thus enabling those individuals an opportunity to participate in a larger idea of themselves. This in turn helps promote healthy cultures, which in turn serves the village, city, state, nation or country of which they belong. Operating as if everything/everyone matters instills the idea that everyone is useful in their own way and should participate in creation through the most useful resource utilization. Affording everyone the ability to succeed through out the entire globe. |
